The Corner Bistro

A blackboard-green bistro menu where tonight's protocol changes are the courses.

French bistro graphics translated to a landing page: a scalloped awning stripe, a chalk emblem over painted cream signage on a deep green slate wall, and the day's items set on printed menu cards as leader-dot rows. The type is a fat face didone doing the signpainting against a warm grotesque doing the reading, with a typewriter mono for the kitchen paperwork. The deprecation list runs as an 86 board, restaurant slang for what the kitchen is out of, struck through in red chalk on serving No. 086.

The leader-dot row

Set a list as menu rows: the name on the left, the value on the right, and a dotted leader holding the two together. One flex row, a dotted border on the filler span, no table markup required. It reads at a glance, compresses a dozen entries into the space of three feature cards, and the dots carry the eye across without a single box, stripe, or icon.

Use it for pricing tiers, spec sheets, service lists, and changelog summaries: anything with a name and a value. What keeps it honest: real values on the right (a price, a date, a source), names that wrap without breaking the leader, and dots set in a muted ink so they guide rather than decorate.

Field Note

Guest Check

Statelessness sounds like poor hospitality until you watch a busy service: no reservation book to keep, no memory of your last visit, and the table is always ready.
