Lovable now reads your Canva brand kit before it invents one

Lovable's 10 September changelog adds Canva as a prebuilt chat connector. While it builds, the builder can search your brand assets and templates, create and edit designs, and export them, so the palette and logo come from the client's own kit rather than the model's taste.

Plus Framer's List field hands its migration to the Framer Agent, v0 publishes GitHub projects in one step, and Webflow argues that an agent's token should last one task.

Today's art direction

The Service Menu

A small metal-fabrication workshop's service page, built as rows on a menu, on brushed graphite.

The small business with a Canva brand kit is the archetypal Canva customer, and its site is where repeated content piles up: services, steps, questions, past jobs. So the page is a menu of ruled rows. An inline byline sentence replaces the boxed masthead, every section opens as a numbered service row with an honest item count, and each item is one row of the same shape. The hero card holds the first brand asset, with two quieter asset rows beneath it for the logo and the colour the builder pulls next. A monospace display face sits over a bookish serif, and the only colour on the graphite is a powder-coat orange, spent on numbers, rules, and one part in each photograph.

Lovable adds Canva as a chat connector, so the brand kit goes in before the build

Two prebuilt connectors arrived in Lovable's changelog on Wednesday. Canva connects the builder to your Canva account to search brand assets and templates, create and edit designs, and export finished ones while it works; Wispr Flow connects it to meeting notes and transcripts. You add them from Connectors and Lovable can call them mid-chat.

The design consequence is ordering. Most small clients keep their whole identity in Canva, a logo, three colours, a few templates, and a builder that can read that folder before it generates a palette starts from the client's brand rather than the model's defaults. The same day added two-way Bitbucket Cloud sync, a Cloudflare API connector for internal tools, and a preview of the files inside a ZIP before Lovable reads it.

Framer's List field: the migration is a sentence to the Framer Agent

We noted the List field itself on Tuesday. The part worth a second look is the upgrade path: you ask the Framer Agent to convert a run of Title 1, Title 2 fields into a List, and it rewrites the collection and reconnects the CMS data on the canvas. Select a card you designed and set Repeat, and it renders once per row, per Framer's update.

v0 publishes GitHub-backed projects in one step

For projects tied to a GitHub repo, v0's Publish now creates or reuses the pull request, merges it into the base branch, and deploys the result. Each change still lands on an isolated working branch with its own preview, so the normal path collapses to one button and the Git path stays available from the branch menu.

Technique

  1. 2.1

Model repeats as rows, not as numbered fields

A schema with Title 1 and Title 2 is a list someone flattened because the tool had no list type. When a builder or an agent sets up a collection for you, ask for the row shape first (title, body, optional link) and let the count float. Framer's Repeat property then does the layout, and a fourth FAQ costs the editor a row rather than a designer.

  2. 2.2

Ask for the kit before you ask for the page

With Canva connected, the first prompt in a client build can be a search rather than a brief: find the brand folder, export the logo mark and the colour tiles, and only then describe the page. The connector can search assets and templates and export finished designs, so the palette on the page has a source you can point the client to.

Webflow: the agent's token should last exactly one task

Mohit Bansal argues that MCP breaches come from over-scoped, long-lived credentials, and proposes per-task secrets, an agent identity separate from the person who invoked it, and continuous auditing of what each token can reach, in a post on the Webflow blog. For anyone letting an agent edit a live site, the practical line is that the token for a copy change should not be able to publish.

Vercel hosts long-running OpenAI Agents API agents

Vercel's changelog entry pairs OpenAI's managed agent loop with Vercel Sandbox for isolated execution and persistent files, scaling to zero between runs. A day later the same Sandbox got 64 GB of storage, enough to hold a real site build and its node_modules.

Lovable splits Build credits from Media generation

Usage details now show two lines: Build, which covers messages, plans, and edits, and Media generation, the images and video the builder makes while it works. It is the first builder to bill generated imagery in the open, which matters once a connector like Canva can supply the real asset instead, per the same changelog day.

Design Move

Borrow this pattern

Design one row, then repeat it from a list

A section is a row shape and a list. Nothing else gets designed twice.

Build FAQ, feature, step, and case-study sections as a single row component fed by structured rows: a number, a title, a caption of one or two sentences, and an optional link. The row carries its own rule, so ten rows read as a menu and three read as a short one. Use it on local service sites, product pages, and course outlines, anywhere the client will add a fourth item next month.

What keeps it honest: let real content lengths vary instead of trimming every row to match, never stamp identical three-up cards, and show a true count in the section head. If a row cannot be filled with a real title and caption, it is not a row yet.

Prompt Lab

Quote sheetPaste into your build tool
Build a one-page local service business site for a small metal fabrication workshop, called The Service Menu. Semantic HTML and CSS only, no JavaScript beyond a few lines if needed. The organising idea: the whole page is a menu of ruled rows, and every repeating thing (services, steps, FAQs, past jobs) is one row shape repeated from a list.

Ground and texture: a dark cool graphite page (#24282C) with a brushed-metal texture made in CSS: a repeating 1px horizontal line at 3 percent white every 3px, plus a faint SVG fractal-noise field at about 7 percent. Panels are zinc (#2F353A) with 1px rules in #3E464D. Text is bone (#E8E4DC), secondary text #C4BFB5, small labels steel blue (#9DB2C2). One accent, powder-coat orange (#F26A1B), used only for row numbers, link underlines, and the 2px rule under section heads. Italic prose uses a quieter warm tone (#D9B59A), never the orange. No gradients, no glow, no neon.

Type: Martian Mono (400, 500, 700) for the headline, section names, numbers, and labels; Literata (400, 600, italic) for body and captions. Body 19px, line-height 1.7, measure about 68 characters, never justified. Headline in the mono at 30 to 56px, tight leading, max 22 characters per line.

Masthead: not a boxed table. One inline byline sentence in 13.5px mono, steel blue, with the business name in orange: "Est. 2014, open Tuesday to Saturday, quotes in 48 hours."

Hero: full-width mono headline (the workshop's promise), then a two-column grid (7 to 5). Left: a 22px serif deck and a 17px note. Right: the "repeat card": a zinc panel with a 3:2 photograph, and a mono caption row reading "Row 1 of 3" in orange followed by one sentence. Under it, two dashed-outline ghost rows in steel, "Row 2 of 3" and "Row 3 of 3", each with a short line. On hover the ghosts nudge 6px and 12px to the right; wrap that in a prefers-reduced-motion guard.

Sections: Services, Process, Questions, Past jobs, Get a quote. Each opens with a row head: a 72px column holding a two-digit orange number, the section name in 24px mono, and a right-aligned mono stub showing the real item count ("4 items"). Under it, an ordered list where every item is the same row: a 72px column with the item number in 13px mono steel, then a 22px serif semibold title and one or two 19px sentences, with a 1px rule beneath. Rows may hold a small mono date or price tag on the title line. Rows get a 2.5 percent white background on hover, 160ms ease.

Photographs: editorial still-life photographs on a graphite bench, cool light from the left, film grain, every part raw steel except one in matte orange. One 3:2 in the hero card, one square beside the Process section with a mono caption below. No legible text in any image.

Get a quote: a light bone sheet (#E8E4DC) with graphite text, a 2px rule under a mono header row ("Quote sheet" left, "Reply within 48 hours" right), then a plain form with native inputs (name, email, what you need, a file field for drawings) at 6px radius, and one orange button. Cards and panels stay at 10 to 12px radius; nothing is a pill.

Footer: a mono issue nav row, then a 16.5px colophon paragraph naming the typefaces and the palette in plain words.

Guardrails: body never under 19px, small labels never under 12.5px and always steel or bone at WCAG AA on their actual background, no accent left-border stripes on any card, no fake search boxes or toggles, no identical three-up feature cards, no emoji, no gradient text, and no container taller than its content.

Works in Beaver Builder AI, Framer, Webflow, Lovable, Bolt, v0, Claude Code, and any builder that accepts a written brief.

Field Note

For most small clients the brand kit is a Canva folder: a logo, three colours, a handful of templates. A builder that reads that folder before it picks a palette will look like the client. One that does not will look like the model.
